Yeah, I was thinking that maybe the poor dude has some sort of temporal lobe (or whatever) watchamacallit going on…

Kind of odd that this is apparantly the first time it’s happened. Did no one notice before now that he regularly falls down when he hears certain [resonant?] frequencies (or at random, maybe)?

Heh. I just realized that the first panel, following up from the last panel of the previous page, is her “gunning” him. “Back way the hell off, man.”

  2. Speed says:

Oh no, it’s much worse than that.

  3. pencilears says:

    how much worse? *noms popcorn*

  4. If only Magri had that power, he’d walk the streets a happy man.

Oh, wait a second, that was what his Jaeger-monster was for. Magri could neurochemically disable his fans too!

And Zivancevic does it to a whole zenology classroom including Vary! – so we have at least three creators able to shut off cortical activity, more or less at will, in overzealous/sexually importunate fans!

What’s more, we have discovered Speed’s latent psychic superpower, if only she can find the inner path to releasing it!

I just want to add that his expression in the 3rd panel is an excellent WTF O.o

  6. I like her “oh, it’s another frantically naive groupie with violin-triggered epilepsy who I have to sonically disable” look in panel one. Though his “oh shit I’m a PROPHET?!?!?” look is also quite good.

I love both of them in panel 2. Her body language is perfect, and he looks like such a teenager– all long limbs plus baby fat and soft features. Aw, Ahsef. Please don’t have a brain tumor. :(

    Godspoken? Like in Xenocide?

No-one referenced this news story about music-induced seizures, so:

Sean Paul Music Triggers Woman’s Seizures: Music-Triggered Epilepsy Is Rare But Treatable

Searching on the term “musicogenic” in scholar.google.com brings up various case studies of this type of epilepsy, including a few free PDF files from nih.gov.

If you have access to med journals via institutional subscription, there’s plenty to read about it.
