Final lines *applause* (and *groannn*.)
Man. Looking at the parallels between these…fuckskunk breeding farms and the Clans is just…CARLA, MY BRAIN. HONESTLY.
(don’t listen to me, I love it.)
It is an interesting point – if she had been willing to face the consequences of her actions, would she have learned the answer to her question? The Ascians are discovering a lot about what is, but they do need those why’s!
…asking why -what?
Breeding weirdheads? Being dogmatic?
so is that like, the last kitten the mother model had in her?
dare I speculate,
some kind of an infant replacement mother model now?
my main question being how is it that the kitten is a sin?
Perhaps they mean she orphaned the poor little thing? Or is it now turning into a “mother model” and it’s all her fault? Or did we never get to the point where we get to see what her sin was, and it was something else entirely? Or what? What is the sin? It’s very odd, this sin business, whatever it is.
Poor little creature…..
Or perhaps crazy monk guys think that “anyone outside our walls is evil-consumer”. They don’t necessarily know where Hau is from, who she is, etc. They might figure her for a consumer of such ‘goods’ and blame her for their presence in the world. To which: MY sin, fuck you” is a reasonable response in my opinion.
My understanding of this:
Haus sin, according to the monks, was dispatching the mother. Hau feels that the real sin is allowing the mothers to breed themselves to death, or breeding these things in the first place. That scrawny little kitten is their fault. ( So give the kitten to the cat lady, she knows how to raise them up properly!)
Is allowing someone to die a natural death despite their suffering, good or bad??
All we humans seem to know for sure -is that I am right, and everybody else’s belief structures are WRONG.
By the way; Happy Birthday, Speed
Yeah, those guys are bad Buddhists. Euthanasia is a perfectly acceptable way to end suffering.
Now, if she killed it without it asking her, then that would be murder, and that would be not so good.
Also, there’s no concept of ‘sin’ in Buddhism. These monks, again, are crappy crappy Buddhists. Just as an FYI.
Yep. Lots of things have gotten mixed up, messed up, and recombined, to say nothing of reinterpratory evolution.
They aren’t real Buddhists.
Hm. Far flung future, indeed. Neat.
Oh, geez, I am soooo slooow. Liza, I think I JUST now realized why you groaned.
Seems that Hauhet walked away from the monastery, went home, and came back with weapons. Guess she had a plan and reason for going back in.
